“People were driving an hour to get to our tasting room up north,” co-founder Ryan Evans said.
Cabrona Coffee plans to open this fall in Villa Park, the neighborhood west of Federal Boulevard and north of 6th Avenue.
Co-owner Jake Linzinmeir estimated that it took about $230,000 and “a lot of elbow grease” to get the basement up to code.
Molly’s Spirits is adding a location in Greenwood Village, which wouldn’t have been possible prior to this year.
“We’re fashionably late to the Denver beer market, which allowed us to see what models have worked,” said Ed Knudsen, co-owner of Barquentine Brewing Co.
The coffee shop has operated along Santa Fe Drive in Overland for three years.
Founder and CEO Jim Lamancusa modeled the concept to resemble Starbucks VIA instant coffee after realizing there was nothing comparable for tea drinkers.
Owner: “There are some great bars and restaurants on Main Street and on Wadsworth, but there really aren’t any unique bars or lounges where you can go sit and have a cocktail.”
