Francois Safieddine has owned the undeveloped lot since 2012, when he bought it for $950,000.
The restaurateur bought the remaining five-year lease at 2400 W. 32nd Ave. from the pizzeria, which is moving two blocks south to 3000 Zuni St.
The owner closed his Mexican restaurant in Berkeley in October to look for a larger space and he’s reopening at 1691 Central St.
“It’s either been really slow some days or it’s so busy that we can’t keep the wheels on the bus,” a LoHi Steakbar co-owner said of not renewing its lease.
Bill Taibe and his business partner are opening a Japanese pub in LoHi and a Mexican restaurant in Platt Park in 2023.
The owner “decided to temporarily close … so that we could pause and evaluate our options.” The space is being marketed for lease.
Citizen Pictures, founded in Denver in 1984 and at 2800 Speer Blvd. since 1998, has produced nearly 450 episodes of Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
