$4.25M Cherry Hills Village mansion tops May home sales

Cherry Hills Village has secured some new residents.

The affluent Denver suburb was the setting for the top three most-expensive home sales that closed in the metro area in May.

The priciest transaction of the month clocked in at $4.25 million — half as much as April’s costliest home sale, a Belcaro art house that sold for $8.5 million. January and February also eclipsed this month’s figure, bringing in $10.75 million and $8.2 million, respectively.

Stats: The seven-bed, nine-bath mansion is just over 8,100 square feet and sits on 1.28 acres.

The finer things: The two-story Cherry Hills Village estate comes with a professionally landscaped backyard complete with an orchard, vegetable gardens and a pool pavilion.

The French doors lining the back of the home lead into a 1,600-square-foot basement that features a home theater, bedroom and bathroom. All seven bedrooms have bathrooms ensuite, and the master suite boasts a balcony overlooking the property.

A one-bed, one-bath guest house with a kitchenette and its own fireplace sits atop the estate’s five-car garage, and six more fireplaces are dispersed throughout the property.

Seller: Grant and Marie Whiteside, according to Arapahoe County records. Grant Whiteside founded, and still owns, Cobalt Off Broadway, Englewood’s first coworking space. Records show he and Marie Whiteside purchased the home in 2006 for $3.96 million.

Buyer: Old Bay Colorado, LLC. Records show Sean M. Bahoshy is an authorized signer for the entity.

The finer things: The mansion was renovated in 2017 to install expansive windows, a second master bedroom and a study with vaulted ceilings. French doors lead from the dining room to the front patio, complete with a large fireplace.

The home’s walk-out basement features a guest room, massage room, wet bar and a 500-bottle wine cellar.

Seller: Robert A. Clark, who bought the home in 2014 for $2.25 million, according to Arapahoe County records.

Buyer: Bears in the Woods Trust, per records.

Stats: Two buildings sit atop the 2.5-acre property: The 8,000-square-foot main residence holds four bedrooms and six bathrooms, while the detached one-bed, one-bath guest house totals 1,000 square feet.

The finer things: The country-style mansion features hardwood flooring, five wood-burning fireplaces, a home office and a wet bar. The main-floor master suite has two closets and a five-piece marble bath, and three additional bedrooms can be found upstairs.

The estate’s 2.5 acres also boasts an outdoor living room — complete with a fireplace — and a tennis court. The one-bed, one-bath guest house features wide-plank flooring, a living room and a home office that opens up to a covered patio.

Seller: The Franklin Trust, which purchased the property in 2002 for $1.64 million. Records show Steven N. Hirsch is the entity’s trustee.

Buyer: 4682 SFS LLC, according to county records.
