Crescent Moon Snowshoes has bounded halfway toward a successful Kickstarter campaign for its new foam snowshoe.
Jake and Tamara Thamm, owners of Crescent Moon Snowshoes, have passed $10,000 pledged on the crowdfunding site, with a goal of $20,000.
“It is pretty much exactly what it costs (to get) our new molds going,” Jake said. “(We’re) just looking for additional exposure to really finish this project off.”
The all-foam snowshoes weigh 3.5 pounds and also feature hard plastic spikes for traction.
As BusinessDen previously reported, the snowshoe functions more like a running shoe, with foam technology that gives the wearer a slight boost with each step.
“We’ve already gotten a number of preseason orders and into some of the biggest chains in the country,” Jake said.
Customers who pledge $160 get a pair of the snowshoes.
