A high-end furniture retailer is taking retail space in an apartment project that recently broke ground in Cherry Creek.
Arhaus plans to move to approximately 16,000 square feet in the building being developed by Matt Joblon’s BMC Investments at 299 Milwaukee St., the company confirmed to BusinessDen.
Arhaus expects to spend approximately $3 million building out the space, permit records show. RDL Architects out of Ohio drew up the plans.
The building is slated to be completed in 2027. Arhaus expects to open that spring.
Arhaus, which is headquartered in Ohio, was founded in 1986 and opened its first Colorado location in 2005 in Cherry Creek’s Clayton Lane project, which is now poised to be redeveloped by Joblon and partners.
Joblon said Arhaus’ Clayton Lane lease expired. The company moved across the street into a “temporary” 13,000-square-foot space in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, an Arhaus spokeswoman said.

“Furniture does phenomenally well in Cherry Creek North,” Joblon said. “Cherry Creek North is really a furniture design destination for the whole region.”
Joblon added he developed a “great relationship” with the retailer, and the two agreed that the business should stay in the neighborhood.
Other companies that have added showrooms in Cherry Creek in recent years include Ballard Designs, Natuzzi Italia, Joybird and Roche Bobois.
Joblon broke ground on Arhaus’ future home at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Milwaukee Street at the end of 2024. Dubbed “The Oasis Apartments,” it will host 177 residential units in a building topping out at eight stories. Joblon said he’s negotiating with two other tenants for the remaining ground-floor retail space.
Arhaus also has stores at Park Meadows in Lone Tree and Colorado Mills in Lakewood.
