A high-end Italian furniture maker plans to move into Cherry Creek.
A Natuzzi Italia store is slated for the northwest corner of 1st Avenue and Detroit Street, across the street from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, according to documents submitted to the Cherry Creek Design Advisory Board.
The store will be 7,200 square feet, according to the documents.
Audio equipment retailer Bose once operated a store in the space, but it has been vacant for years, according to archived Google Street View images.
Natuzzi didn’t respond to requests for comment. Natuzzi Italia is the company’s higher-end brand and includes only products made in Italy, whereas Natuzzi Editions offers less expensive products that are sometimes manufactured elsewhere.
Natuzzi’s website shows sofas ranging from $2,300 to $25,500, the most unusual of which resembles an infinity symbol and costs $22,100.
HOK, an architecture and engineering firm, submitted plans for the store to the Cherry Creek board because the retailer wants to “refresh the exterior” of the storefront.
