The intersection of Market Street and the 16th Street Mall is a hub for downtown construction, with two of four corners undergoing change.
On one side, there’s Continuum Partners’ and Clarion Partners’ Market Station project, which spans nearly a full city block.
And across Market Street, there’s Thompson Denver, the first of two Denver projects planned by Newport Beach, California-based T2 Hospitality.
The 11-story project is slated to have 224 rooms, according to the company’s website. The top five floors are set back.

Of note: This will be the first Thompson Hotels property in Colorado. Thompson is a Hyatt brand.
Elsewhere in town: T2 recently finished purchasing a site two blocks away, where it has proposed a second hotel.
Other hotels underway: Also under construction currently are Catbird in RiNo and the hotel portion of LoDo’s McGregor Square, both from Sage Hospitality. TWC Management is also building a Best Western Vib hotel at 3560 Brighton Blvd.
