The owner of Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Grand County has expanded her most recent retail endeavor in Washington Park.
Suzanne Fanch, who also owns area fitness studios under the Center Strength name, relocated retail shop Centered & Strong on Oct. 29 from 1021 S. Gaylord St. to 1025 S. Gaylord St.
At 1,100 square feet, the new space, previously home to an art gallery, is twice the size of the original location. Fanch said it allows her to offer more products and expand into men’s apparel.
“It’s just a collection of kind of comfortable apparel and accessories that can kind of be more inspired,” she said. “So most of them are things you can wear from studio to street. … We’ll be changing the product probably every month based on what we can find that we think is fresh and that appeals to the neighborhood.”
Store products in the store range from books and apparel to jewelry and hypo-microbial gym bags called The Pure Bag, and from yoga mats to shoes made from recycled yoga mats.
“All the jewelry actually is locally made here in Denver,” Fanch said. “We’re focusing on primarily made-in-the-USA products.”
Fanch also is slated to open an outpost of Centered & Strong in planned retail center Nurture near Federal and Speer, joining other tenants that include Hydrate IV Bar and cycling studio Rhythm Revolution.
Retaining control of previous storefront
Fanch isn’t completely leaving behind Center & Strong’s former home.

In addition to owning resort Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Grand County, she and her husband Bob have planned a new community in Winter Park. Dubbed “Roam,” it is being built on the east side of U.S. 40 between downtown and the ski resort, on property formerly used as a dude ranch, according to the project’s website.
Fanch said she plans to open a “development center” for Roam in April or May at 1021 S. Gaylord St.
In addition to providing information regarding the community, the storefront also will sell outdoor apparel and equipment, she said.
Also joining Washington Park, although not a creation of Fanch, is a CBD store offering skin care, body and pet products. The CBD Suite will open at 1078 S. Gaylord St.
