Session Coffee is brewing up a second location.

The Denver-based coffee company plans to open its new store in the lobby of Porter Adventist Hospital at 2525 S. Downing St. within the month, said founder and owner Matt Guber.

He said one of Session’s regular customers had a connection at the hospital, and it was “too good of an opportunity to pass up.”

“We’re going to be focusing more on food options,” Guber said of the new location. “A few more healthy foods, and we might do some juices and smoothies.”

Guber said he plans to hire more employees to staff the new store; how many he’ll bring in is “up in the air.”

Session Coffee opened in an 800-square-foot space at 1340 S. Santa Fe Drive in Overland nearly three years ago, Guber said. Guber and his brother Brad began the business together, but Brad has stepped away.

“We focus a lot on specialty coffee,” Matt Guber said. “All the way through your standard cappuccinos and lattes to more unique stuff. We bring in our own chai, our own flavors, and we try to use local businesses as much as we can.”
