Poker player nabs Cherry Hills Village mansion for $4M

A professional poker player earlier this month anted up for a 17,000-square-foot mansion in Cherry Hills Village.

Alan Goehring, a Nevada resident who’s earned more than $5 million playing cards, put $4.1 million on the table to buy a mansion in Cherry Hills Village.

Fellow poker player Francois Safieddine unloaded his Cherry Hills Village home in December.

Stats: 17,000 square feet with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms on 2.2 acres.

Price: $4.1 million

Seller: Patricia Green

Buyer: Alan Goehring, who after retiring as a junk bond trader and analyst, turned to poker at age 37 and has earned more than $5 million in winnings, according to a poker database.

Listing broker: Edie Marks with The Kentwood Co. The home originally was listed in July for $5.3 million.

The finer things: Outdoor kitchen and fireplace, horse barn and a pond.
