Lululemon is leaving the posh sidewalks of Cherry Creek for the mall across the street.
The yoga apparel retailer is planning a late fall stretch into the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and soon will start construction on its 5,500-square-foot space, mall general manager Nick LeMasters said.
Lululemon is in good company when it comes to mall newcomers.
A Pea in the Pod, a maternity clothing shop nearby on First Avenue, is under construction in the mall and set to open later this month, LeMasters said. A mattress store will open in mid-fall, and two tenants, Bath & Body Works and Loft, are relocating inside the mall.
“Going into the fall, we’re in a very strong position,” LeMasters said. “We feel like we’re going to be well positioned for a very strong fourth quarter.”
A Lululemon retail employee in Cherry Creek confirmed the move into the mall on Friday.
Vancouver-based Lululemon’s stock price has popped since its earnings reports in June, but the retailer also has scaled back its brick-and-mortar retail footprint by moving its girls’ line, Ivivva, online.
Ivivva plans to close locations in Cherry Creek and the Park Meadows mall on Sunday.
