Steve Rossi has announced his retirement, according to the Denver Post. He is the president and chief executive officer of Digital First Media, the owner of The Post. Guy Gilmore has been named chief operating officer upon Rossi’s retirement. Gilmore is the executive vice president in charge of Digital First Media’s eastern region and the president and publisher of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Shailen Bhatt is leaving the Colorado Department of Transportation in December. He is the executive director and will become the president and chief executive officer of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. Mike Lewis, the deputy executive director, will become interim executive director.
Restaurants
Garrett Meyer has been appointed executive chef of Sarto’s in Jefferson Park. He has worked in resorts and restaurants from Alaska to Singapore.

Shane Brown is executive director of Balfour at Riverfront Park. He had been the executive director at Legacy at Forest Ridge in San Antonio, Texas.
Honors
Fred Taylor has been named winner of the Philanthropic Leadership Award by The Denver Foundation. He is the president and co-founder of Northstar Investment Advisors and will be honored on Nov. 14 at a reception at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. He is also treasurer and vice chairman for the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation and the chairman of the hospital’s investment committee. Taylor is a member of CollegeInvest’s board of directors and the Colorado State Land Board’s public school investment fund board.
