Denver area’s 10 priciest home sales in 2024 all topped $8M

The Denver area’s top 10 luxury home sales in 2024 all topped $8 million and included houses in Boulder and Cherry Hills Village.

One Cherry Hills Village home sold in April and November, landing on the list twice.

According to data compiled by the Denver Metro Association of Realtors, 5,279 properties priced over $1 million sold in the 11-county Denver metro area for $8.5 billion last year. That’s 14 percent more properties worth 12 percent more than last year’s luxury home sales.

5 Cherry Hills Park Drive

The most expensive house sold last year was 5 Cherry Hills Park Drive

According to public records, Josh Kroenke, president of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, purchased the 12,000-square-foot mansion on Aug. 27 for $15.8 million.

Kroenke is the son of billionaire Stan Kroenke, who owns the Denver teams, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, the Los Angeles Rams football team, and more.

The Cherry Hills Village mansion, with five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a 24-hour staffed guard gate, listed for nearly $17 million on July 30 and went under contract five days later. 

According to REcolorado records, the transaction was the most expensive on-market sale in Cherry Hills Village. Former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson holds the top spot for his $25 million purchase of nearby 10 Cherry Hills Park Drive in April 2022.

Details: Craig Shiesley, CEO of frozen Greek yogurt dessert company Yasso Inc., and his wife Marie purchased the 5,700-square-foot home at 2260 Meadow Ave. in Boulder for $10 million on Oct. 2. 

The house in the Carolyn Heights neighborhood has five bedrooms and five bathrooms. 

It was previously owned by Michael and Betsy Billinghurst, who bought it for $1.8 million in September 2016. 

Michael Billinghurst started Denver-based Solace Pediatric Home Healthcare in 2005 after working for 10 years as an occupational therapist.

The home was designed by Boulder’s Surround Architecture and J. Logan. It features exposed steel, concrete countertops, and white oak floors, with large custom steel planters separating the outdoor plaza from the pool patio.

Details: Nigel and Maria Willerton bought 916 Juniper Ave. in Boulder from Kyle John and Lacey Jo Musick for $10 million on Nov. 21. 

Willerton was named president and COO of Whole Earth Brands in April 2023. The company manufactures zero- and low-calorie sweeteners.

The Musicks spent $8.5 million to buy the four-bedroom Boulder house 

in June 2022. They listed the 5,500-square-foot Boulder home for $11.5 million in April. 

The four-bedroom, seven-bath house was designed by Surround Architecture and constructed by TreeLine Homes in 2012.

Details: Fancy Like LLC sold the 162-acre estate at the foot of the Flatirons to Jaguar Paw Ranch LLC on Nov. 8. Fancy Like LLC listed the property with a 4,300-square-foot, four-bedroom, five-bath home for $10 million. 

Located about 10 minutes from Boulder and Golden, the property includes two sites that offer the opportunity to create a multi-generational legacy compound. 

The Retreat at Flatiron Meadows encompasses rolling prairies protected from development by a conservation easement and is surrounded by Boulder County Open Space. It offers unobstructed Flatirons, Eldorado Canyon, and Longs Peak views.

Details: The 10,500-square-foot house with six bedrooms and nine baths sold for $9 million on Nov. 14 to 4949 South Franklin LLC after it was listed for $9.3 million on Oct. 23.

4949 South Franklin LLC lists a principal mailing address of 100 Pine Street #2600 in San Francisco, the address of the Jordan Park Group, a financial investment company. The LLC’s registered agent is Bridget Sullivan with the Denver law firm Sherman & Howard. 

On April 24, RSI GST Trust purchased the new construction mansion for its $8.5 million list price from MJC Development Co. LLC, which bought the property in 2021 for $2 million.

The six-bedroom, eight-bath home sits on a private 1.19-acre lot. Its open floor plan features vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Details: Adam and Sarah Krier bought 12 Viking Drive in Cherry Hills for $9 million on July 26.

Adam Krier is a partner at Equity Insurance Group, and both Kriers work with Notable Investments LLC.

The seller, 12 Viking Drive LLC, bought the property for $1.4 million in April 2019 and built the nearly 10,000-square-foot mansion in 2020. On April 24, the LLC listed the home for $9.5 million.

The seven-bedroom, nine-bath mansion sits on nearly an acre and features a state-of-the-art kitchen with white oak glass-front cabinetry, marble countertops, and a Lacanche Range.

The couple bought the 8,700-square-foot, six-bedroom, seven-bath mansion in August 2020 for $2.3 million and renovated it after selling their custom-built Cherry Hills mansion.

The home, which includes a two-story foyer with floor-to-ceiling woodwork and custom-stained wood floors, went under contract in 13 days.

Details: Mark and Heather Yeager purchased the new construction home from 1000 E Stanford Ave LLC.

The 8,800-square-foot, six-bedroom, 10-bath mansion designed by Vision Design Build sits on a full acre. It listed on Sept. 21 for $8.5 million and closed on Oct. 18. 

The home features vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. 

It also provides a separate one-bedroom guest suite with a living room, kitchen, and bath over the four-car garage.
