Macy’s is closing its store in The Shops at Northfield.
The retailer announced the closure of the location at 8298 Northfield Blvd., and 65 others around the country, on Thursday. The majority of the stores will shutter this quarter.
Macy’s said last year it planned to close 150 underperforming stores by 2026. These closures are part of that initiative.
Macy’s once owned its Northfield real estate. But it sold it in January 2023 for $8 million to Los Angeles-based Stockdale Capital Partners, which owns the bulk of the open-air shopping center.
Fellow retailer Kohl’s, meanwhile, said last week it will close its store at 6584 S. Parker Road in Aurora’s Arapahoe Crossing.
