Dentons, one of the world’s largest law firms, is looking at a new downtown Denver office.
The firm is eyeing about 11,600 square feet on the 13th floor of 1900 16th St. near Union Station, according to public records. No one from the firm responded to multiple requests for comment.
Dentons is currently located at 1400 Wewatta St., about a quarter mile down the street.
San Francisco-based Interior Architects drew up the plans for the new space. It tapped a local firm, MDP Engineering Group, to help with the project as well.
The price tag on the build-out: $711,000, according to public records. That’s a drop in the bucket for Dentons, which raked in over $2.7 billion in 2023. The law firm is home to nearly 6,000 attorneys across over 150 global offices.
Dentons traces its Denver roots to McKenna & Cuneo, which had a presence in the Mile High City since at least 1990. McKenna & Cuneo went through a couple mergers before being absorbed by Dentons in 2015.
BusinessDen reported last year that the 400,000-square-foot 1900 16th St. had been listed for sale at an undisclosed price. The building’s tenants, which include Meta, PricewaterhouseCoopers and FirstWestern Trust, pay an average rent of $36 per square foot.
The 1400 Wewatta St. building, meanwhile, will soon host labor and employment law firm Jackson Lewis, which told BusinessDen last month it’s taking 17,400 square feet on the ninth floor.
