Oakley has its eyes on RiNo.
The eyewear brand has submitted plans to the city to open a 1,500-square-foot retail store at 2652 Walnut St., across an alley from Denver Central Market, public records show.
Neither Oakley nor the property’s owner, national retail investor Edens, responded to a request for comment.
Cortland Morgan Architect out of Arlington, Texas, drew up the plans for Oakley. The build-out will cost $250,000, the documents state.
The unit’s previous tenant was Digitiqe, a local retail and repair shop for phones, computers and audiovisual equipment. It still has locations in Breckenridge and Paonia.
Oakley has seven stores in the state. Its single Denver location is in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, according to its website.
The RiNo store will be between two existing retailers, blanket and clothing store Pendleton and Paddywax Candle Bar. Notable nearby stores include Arc’teryx, Patagonia and Burton.
Edens is a major landlord in RiNo. It has spent about $100 million on real estate in the vicinity of Denver Central Market since entering the market six years ago.
