Mansions in Cherry Hills Village and Greenwood Village, an Evergreen home on 15 acres and a renovated midcentury modern in the Country Club neighborhood topped August’s home sales in the Denver metro area.
The top spot was taken by Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche President Josh Kroenke, who paid $15.75 million for the 12,000-square-foot mansion at 5 Cherry Hills Park Drive. He purchased it using 5780 Residence LLC on Aug. 27, records show.
The mansion has five bedrooms, seven baths, and a 24-hour staffed guard gate.
Josh Kroenke is the son of billionaire Stan Kroenke, who owns the Denver teams, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, the Los Angeles Rams football team, the Colorado Rapids professional soccer team, and the Colorado Mammoth, a professional box lacrosse team.
The Cherry Hills Village mansion listed for nearly $17 million on July 30 and went under contract five days later.
The transaction is the most expensive on-market sale in Cherry Hills Village, according to REcolorado records. The top spot overall was former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson’s $25 million purchase of nearby 10 Cherry Hills Park Drive in April 2022.

The project involved removing walls and raising ceilings. The company also replaced an indoor pool with a 1,400-square-foot party/sports addition with an additional six-car garage, giving the home nine parking spaces.
H.W. McKay Belk and Nina Ferguson Belk bought the home from David and Jennifer Giesen for just under its $7.3 million list price.
Belk is the former president and chief marketing officer of Belk department stores. The Giesens owned the former Northwest Giesen Restaurants.
