UMB Bank will close its branch in LoDo this fall.
The Kansas City, Missouri-based company will shutter its 2,300-square-foot location at 1400 Wewatta St. midday on Oct. 27, according to Kaele Palmer, a UMB Bank spokeswoman.
“After careful consideration of our transaction volumes and branch usage patterns, we have decided to consolidate the UMB LoDo branch with our downtown branch,” she said.
UMB has a location at 1670 Broadway downtown, along with branches in the Cherry Creek, City Park West, Northeast Park Hill, Hampden South and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.
UMB is the ninth-largest banking chain in the Denver area by deposits. It took in 1.9 percent of the deposits here between mid-2021 and mid-2022, according to federal data.
1400 Wewatta St. is a mixed-use property built in 2008 that houses the Denver office of several major law firms, including Dentons, the largest firm in the world. Clark Hill has its local office there, as do Dorsey & Whitney, Nelson Mullins and Kilpatrick Townsend.
Crestone Partners owns that building as well as a neighboring property at 1401 Wewatta.
