Two years after completing their custom built Hilltop home, Rebecca and Matt Ledges are ready to sell and build again.

The couple listed the 7,126-square-foot modern property at 140 S. Glencoe St. for $4.2 million last week. They hired developer Stephen Brown with Denver-based Brown Development Group to build the home in 2018, and Rebecca designed it with him.

“We worked really well with Steve and meshed with his whole crew, so we’re excited to do it again,” she said. “My design files keep evolving and growing, and I want to refine my style a bit.”

Rebecca is a local business law attorney, and Matt is a doctor and vice president of clinical analytics for Tennessee-based TeamHealth, one of the nation’s largest providers of hospital-based clinical outsourcing services, according to his LinkedIn.

The Ledges purchased the property for $973,000 in 2017, according to property records.

“This was our first venture,” Rebecca said. “My husband and I have a pretty similar aesthetic, so it was fun to take things we’ve seen over the last 10 or 20 years from different studios and places around the world and put them all together in a house.”

The seller designed the home around the pool to create an indoor-outdoor environment.

Rebecca, who moved here from Arizona, was inspired to create a sleek, indoor-outdoor environment. She said she chose where the pool would go first on the 13,200-square-foot lot and built the home around it.

“We wanted the pool to be an extension of the home,” she said. “The house really comes to life when the kids are having a pool party and running around.”

Three sets of bi-fold glass doors open the entire back of the home to reveal an outdoor living room with a floating fireplace next to the year-round saltwater pool and hot tub. And a three-story atrium above the kitchen offers daily maximum sunlight throughout the interior.

“I wanted to keep the drama of the house where the family is, which is the kitchen, and the best view of the atrium is standing in the center of the kitchen and looking up,” Rebecca said.

Address: 140 S. Glencoe St., Denver

Listing price: $4.2 million

Stats: The three-story property includes 5,258 square feet of space above ground, plus a 1,868-square-foot finished basement with an expansive rec room, workout room, craft room and walkout patio. There’s also a rooftop patio with views of the Rockies.

The finer things: The four-bed, six-bath modern home has no shortage of sleek luxurious finishes on the main floor, such as the 10-foot Bocci glass chandelier, Starfire glass temperature-controlled wine cabinet, walnut walls and ceilings, and monorail steel and wood stairs with glass railings.

“The staircase is a central architectural feature in the home now, which is something you wouldn’t usually anticipate,” Rebecca said.

Upstairs, the intentional airy design continues. The master suite features an elevated sitting room, a private terrace overlooking the pool and open closets designed with walnut and glass. The master bath includes a hallway shower and separate steam shower and two toilets.

There’s also a loft and two bedrooms with en suite baths on the second level.

“One of the most popular comments I’ve gotten about the home is the consistency of the style throughout,” said listing agent Dianna May. “It’s really amazing how the aesthetic carries through all four levels, yet each one tells a different story.”

The couple also built an oversized car collector’s garage with four bays, one of which is reinforced and wired for a car lift.
