The late Walt Emery, a WWII veteran and longtime banker in Colorado, pooled his money with seven others to give the Broncos their start in the 1960s. Emery died in 2010, and his wife, Jaynn Emery, died in August.

Stats: The home was built in 1947 with 7,800 square feet, including six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The plot comprises 1.1 acres in Denver’s Belcaro neighborhood, a mile away from the Denver Country Club and the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.

Seller: The Emery Exempt Family Trust. Walt Emery bought the house in 1962.
