Denver’s down a taco shack.

Moontower Tacos has closed at Sixth Avenue and Grant Street. The abrupt closure, first reported by Westword, comes about 2½ years after the restaurant opened.

The restaurant was empty on Thursday afternoon with “closed” signs on windows and doors. Those signs offered no explanation for the closure. Calls to the store’s phone line went unanswered, and Moontower founder Brent Thrash could not be reached by press time.

Crosbie Real Estate Group is handling leasing at the Sixth and Grant retail center. Listing agent Rich Otterstetter declined to comment on the Moontower space when reached by phone on Thursday.
