The company behind the bar and music venue paid $1.35 million last week for just shy of an acre along South Broadway.
Call to Arms Brewery and two other tenants at 4526 Tennyson St. have a new landlord.
The name references Aurora, which is Latin for dawn. The Koenigs believe if there were two dawns, the second would be after work enjoying a cold beer.
The brewery borne in Idaho Springs has since addition locations in Lafayette and downtown Denver’s Dairy Block.
There is not expected to be a retail component at the Industrial Lane operation.
Owner Ryan Cobbins said the decision to pull the plug in Five Points was due to more than just a lawsuit filed by investment firm The Flyfisher Group.
“Denver’s liquor laws are outdated and antiquated for this growing city,” says the owner of the Gravel Pit.
The buyer has tried to open a jazz club downtown.
The development site includes the current home of Lowdown Brewery + Kitchen.
