The Denver Housing Authority’s board of commissioners has named three finalists for the organization’s CEO job.

The two women and one man currently hold top positions at similar organizations in Georgia, Ohio and South Carolina.

Former DHA CEO David Nisivoccia resigned last August after two-and-a-half years in the role to take a position with a subsidiary of the nonprofit organization Volunteers of America. Joshua Crawley, who had been chief operating officer and general counsel, has been serving as interim CEO since then.

DHA included the following information about the three finalists in a Monday news release.

Yvonda Bean has been CEO of the Housing Authority of the City of Columbia, South Carolina, since 2022. Prior to this she was CEO/Executive Director for the Housing Authority of the City of Lafayette, Louisiana. She has worked in public and affordable housing since 2000.

Terri M. Lee has been chief operating officer of the Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta since 2020. Prior to this she was chief housing officer for the Office of the Mayor in Atlanta. Ms. Lee has worked in public and affordable housing since 1997.

Joaquin Cintron Vega has been president and CEO of Lucas Metropolitan Housing in Toledo, Ohio, since 2020. Prior to this he was director of the Public Housing Division in Florida’s Miami-Dade County. Mr. Vega has worked in public and affordable housing since 2001.

DHA’s board landed on the three finalists after conducting what it called a national search.

“The search process resulted in significant interest among a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates, many of whom were executive leaders of impressive public and private sector organizations, both local and national, which further speaks to the extraordinary quality of our finalists,” board chair Grace Buckley said in a statement.

DHA residents and staff will have the opportunity to hear from the finalists during upcoming interviews and forums, the organization said. DHA’s board will also conduct a final round of interviews.
