The sun has set for SOL Mexican Cocina.

The Mexican spot at 200 Columbine St. in Cherry Creek has shuttered, according to a sign posted on its door.

“Due to lease expiration, SOL has permanently closed,” the sign reads.

The 7,500-square-foot eatery opened in 2016 and was run by California-based Xperience Restaurant Group.

Chris Lankford, the group’s regional director of operations, declined to comment, referring BusinessDen to a spokeswoman. She did not respond to an email by the time of publication.

Building owner Western Development Group also did not respond to a request for comment.

SOL’s website still shows three locations in California and one in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is known for its Baja-style Mexican food.
