A couple have broken their own record for the sale of a single-family home in Boulder.
Kevin and Stephanie Ness sold 1505 Sunset Blvd. on May 2 for $14.5 million. That eclipses the mark they set in January 2023, when the couple sold the neighboring property at 1489 Sunset Blvd. for $13 million.
Kevin Ness is the former CEO of Inscripta, a life sciences technology company.
The 7,200-square-foot, two-story mansion with a walk-out lower level at 1505 Sunset Blvd. features five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a three-car garage. It sits on nearly half an acre, offering Flatiron views and easy access to downtown Boulder’s Pearl Street.Â
Surround Architecture designed the mansion, which Harrington Stanko constructed.
Marybeth Emerson with The Agency-Boulder represented the Nesses. Karen Libin with KL Realty represented the buyer, the Dru A. Schmitt Revocable Trust.
In addition to their homes in Boulder, the Nesses set a record in Vail by paying $57.3 million in June 2020 for both halves of a duplex on Vail Road, located near the Vail Interfaith Chapel.
They spent over three years converting the duplex into a single-family home, updating the floor plan to accommodate large gatherings and enhancing the fifth-floor deck. On Jan. 10, the couple listed the Vail home for $78 million.
