The park normally opens in late April or early May.
“I wish I could say I was smart enough to see it coming,” said one co-owner. “Now, of course, it makes sense.”
The city-owned course has been closed since November 2017.
“The two businesses really supported each other and without one functioning fully … the business model collapses,” an owner said.
“If you don’t already have bikes on order that you would receive before the end of this year, you’re not getting them before the snow flies,” one shop owner said.
“I’m working with some voices that have not been center stage,” said Jordan Smiley.
“We’re sandwiched between two hot tub stores and we’re right on the highway,” but the new spot has more space and a trail down to the river, owner Tucker Ladd said.
From one-off studios to local and nation chains, the fitness industry is contracting.
