Two more breweries have fizzled out.

Mother Tucker, which had locations in Thornton and Louisville, announced its closing this week.

Owners Deb and Scott Tucker opened the Thornton spot at 2360 E. 120th Ave. in 2017. Two years later, the married couple signed a five-year Louisville lease at 1134 W. Dillon Road.

The two cited retirement as the reason for shuttering the brewery, which made its beers at both spots.

In 2019, Scott Tucker said Mother Tucker was named for Deb, the “reason and inspiration” behind the brewery, who is literally Mother Tucker.

According to its website, it had 16 taps and served brews including German Hefeweizen, which Scott Tucker told BusinessDen was its best seller.

Mother Tucker’s closure continues a rocky stretch for Colorado breweries.

Last year, 41 spots shut their doors, up from 31 in 2023.

This year, Denver’s craft scene has already said goodbye to Blue Moon in RiNo, Tivoli Brewing at Auraria Campus and, most recently, Burns Family Artisan Ales.
