Lululemon has moved onto Tennyson Street for the holidays.

The Canadian apparel brand known for its yoga pants has established a seasonal pop-up store at 3930 Tennyson St.

The store had not yet opened on Friday, but a crew was putting up signage.

Lululemon didn’t respond to a request for comment but, in a September earnings call, CEO Calvin McDonald said the company planned to have 70 seasonal stores in the second half of the year, compared to 50 in the second quarter.

“Our strategy this holiday will include seasonal stores in key centers and markets where we have existing stores to help us mitigate the current capacity constraints,” McDonald said.

Lululemon already has a permanent store 1.3 miles away at 3420 W. 32nd Ave. Further afield, it has permanent locations in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Park Meadows mall.

Bloomberg reported in September that Lululemon paid full rent through the coronavirus pandemic, unlike many other retailers.

“We are a growth retailer that works well for landlords,” he told the publication. “When opportunity in great locations come up I think that goodwill will pay dividends for us.”

Lululemon’s landlord on Tennyson Street is Charlotte-based Asana Partners, which purchased the two-unit building in September 2019 for $1.74 million. Restaurant Paris Crepe and furniture showroom Highlands Design Resource operated in the building at the time, but both have since vacated.

BusinessDen broke the news last week that Asana is under contract to purchase Larimer Square.

JLL brokers Sam Zaitz, Jeff Feldman and Lorenzo Harris have been representing Asana in Denver acquisitions and leasing.
