DJ’s has flipped its last pancake.
DJ’s 9th Avenue Café at 865 Lincoln St. and DJ’s Berkeley Café at 3838 Tennyson St. both were closed Monday.
A note on the door of the Lincoln Street location indicated the closures were permanent, but did not provide an explanation.
“We will miss all of the good times and hope that you have success, health and happiness in your life going forward … Thanks again for making the last 12 years of our lives so great,” the note read.
The sign had logos for both locations. It’s unclear what day the restaurants were last open.
Owner Jason Stallings did not respond to a request for comment.
The restaurants served breakfast and lunch. The original DJ’s opened on Tennyson in 2005, with the Lincoln Street location following in 2013.
The restaurant chain opened a third eatery in Park Hill in January. At the time, Stallings said he had 60 staff members at the Lincoln and Tennyson locations. The new spot in Park Hill didn’t last long, closing this past summer.

So sad to see these great neighborhood spots close. I have been out of town for the last couple of months, but I was really looking forward to having breakfast at DJ’s on 9th when I got home. ? Best of luck to their crew. Great people all around.
This was one of my favorite local spots – delicious, consistently good food. I just had lunch there on Sunday; if I had known they were closing the next day I would have stocked up on chorizo stew!
